11 Site Monetizing Tips by the Rich Sage to Help Make Money Online

As the Rich Sage I like to present site monetizing ideas with two intentions –The first is to earn immediate income, and the latter is to earn long-term residual commissions that are dependable.

Let me get to the first few that are shot-term, immediate type of commissions that you should work on as you get your site traffic ‘ramped up’.

SHORT TERM INCOME GENERATORS (1 to 7) The REST ARE LONG TERM:

  1. Pay per Click Ad Network:  These are Google and AzoogleAds type of networks that display ads based on your content and earn you commissions every time an ad is clicked.  There are some advantages being that you don’t need to waste time selling ads, while you focus on your content.  Furthermore, a network such as Google Adsense do pay a good percentage of their own fees to you, thus efficiently managing the transaction.

The drawback is that the commissions are low and in order to earn a good amount of money you need traffic.  Another, faux pau is that when someone clicks an ad, they are leaving your site!  That’s not so nice.

  2. Ad Network:  These are networks such as Commissions Junction, Google, and many others that display contextual ads on your site and pay you by the CPM or ads displayed per thousand.  Ouch!  That takes a lot of traffic. There are a lot better ways to make money for us bloggers that don’t have millions of visitors per day.
  3. Pay Per Action Ad Network:  These are rather special ads that advertisers pay for only when an ad delivers a customer or lead.  These ads given the right context can pay a lot better.  Take for example the following scenario:  I write a review about product ABC and tie that with a display of that advertisers ad leading to the online store.  That type of ad pays a lot better commissions.  I am planning to do just that for 2008 using my reviews and a marketplace that I’ve developed.  I’ll write a review, link it to a sales area for the product and also feature it in my marketplace.
  4. Setup Review Offers:  This is similar to the above, but does the following:  I review a product that someone offers me to review.  Then I do the same as above.  Keep in mind that I have a policy to only publish a review of a product IF it equals 5-stars.
  5. Setup Special Lessons:  Again, this is something that is unique to Internet Marketing –developing a series of lessons that cost $97 or some special price (per month) and is limited to 100 or 250 or some small amount of people.  Then get the subscribers through your traffic or using pay per click advertising.
  6. Affiliate Program in a Niche: Find a good niche.  What is a niche?  It’s simply a problem in life that you’ll find a solution/help for.  Any disease, any condition, any hobby, any idea of value is something that is a niche.  I have old site with Business Credit Building info. That is a niche.  You need to setup an authority site for it. Then you need to join as many forums as you can care to join and work on promoting your niche.  To find forums in your niche, just go to Google and search “<niche type> forums” and you’ll find many.
  7. E-Book Sales:  This is a monetizing idea that I’ve tried for a short time and it works very well.  I will be going right back to it with my Rich Sage Marketplace where I’ll feature some of the old books that I’ve written on business credit building, making money online and online business success.  Another great idea is to use networks such as ClickBank, PayDot.COM and a relative newcomer, CLICK 2 SELL.  I will be using all three of these networks to sell my ebooks.  I’ll report back to you on how it goes.
  8. Income from a Membership Site:  Now let’s get into some of the ideas that make money and that generate income streams lasts longer than normal.  I am talking about a membership site where you generate monthly, quarterly or even annual membership fees using Paypal, ClickBank or even your own merchant account.
  9. Income from a Membership Site Network:  This I think is a fantastic way to earn a long-term commissions.  The idea was so good that I started such a network, which is running via biig.com.  The idea is simple.  There will be hundreds of thousands of membership sites.  My objective is to build a network to act as an MASP –Membership Applications Services Provider.  And help membership sites market their products and services.  For example, I’ll market my Private Membership Lessons, my normal membership lessons (free) and even my investment membership area at NEXT Super Stock through this network.
  10. Mailing List(s):  This is the granddaddy of site monetizing, but now it has a twist.  Sure its a perfect way to site-monetize.  Just do everything to add people to your site’s mailing list.  Then provide quality content to them, and updates about once a week.  Offer subscribers everything from bonuses to any incentive you can think of to get them to subscribe.

Then there is another way to add readers to a “list” using RSS.  Setting up a reader base using RSS reader is perfect.  I’ve done that using Feedburner, which you see running via the orange button above.  Once again, provide great content and many will subscribe to your RSS reader feed.

  11. Dominate a Niche, any Niche:  This is not a short term solution, but it can still be done for the long-term, and it is precisely what I am doing building for the long run.  I am in the Internet Marketing (IM) niche with this blog. I bet there are a million other “make money online” blogs that have sprung up.  So, how will I succeed?  Using a brand.  When you are in a sea of blue coats at a ball game, the idea is to wear a RED COAT.  That’s precisely what I am doing dressed as the Rich Sage.  Obviously, it is rather easy for me to be that guy, as I live it!

I plan to update this list with more precise information as my work in the make money online niche grows.  So, stay turned or as I suggest, just subscribe to my RSS feed to keep in touch!

Success, Rich Sage
