Finally, the third version of the Rich Sage dot Com is live! Now my work really starts… I am introducing several new areas for my readers –The FREE Ad Forum, the Marketplace and an UNDERGROUND Area (this might be password protected) where I will introduce a community and offer lessons based on my innovative business plan.

There are many major changes, and some that are minor but present great challenges. Take for example, that most of my posts started with an image. That is no longer possible because the link that leads to the “Continue Reading” area displays an ad image first. That is written into the code. I have to start each post with my thoughts. But, I am very happy with the new format and find it easy to work with. That is what counts… I need to have a “work place” that I enjoy making contributions!

This transition that started with a new dedicated server and a new theme started on the First of June. I hope to accomplish all the upgrade by the end of June 2008!

My NEW Philosophy…

New Philosophy:

My reliance on ads to generate the revenue has almost disappeared! Progressing, my revenue model uses a new membership area to monetize my efforts, and to show my readers how I build a global business around this model.

There are several advertising spots that I am using to display 125×125, 250×250 and 160×120 size ads. And there is a peel away ad, in the right corner. However, these ads result in something that I am not happy about –ONE CLICK and the reader is *gone*!

I don’t mind displaying these ads because I am sure that readers will remember the Rich Sage. However, if you are running a site with little brand recognition, I suggest that you stay as far away from ads as much as possible. Running ads is fine if you have mastered the art of generating repeat visitors. Otherwise, stay the route of monetizing with a membership.

The last major change was to step away from a Rich Sage directory to sell products and services and install a full shopping cart that could handle an entire marketplace. I’ve installed ZEN CART, which is a free e-commerce application that can mange an entire shopping mall.

All my actions with this update is to interact with the readers, offer as much help as I can to help build their own business and in so doing to advance my interests, which I do by signing up as many Rich Sage Community (The Underground!) Members as I can.
