Rich Sage Update: E-Book Publishing and Planning
Over the past weeks I’ve worked on my first major e-book. My goal is to create an e-book that accomplishes the following:
- Introduces readers to my brand
- Introduces readers to my business building techniques
- Exposes the entire affiliate program
- Overall, creates a compelling path for reader success with real-world examples
- Gives access to the Membership Area where only product buyers have access to training materials
All the above reasons are reader advantages. From the Rich Sage perspective, here are my advantages:
- Network exposure creates many new users
- Affiliate program gets a big boost
- All the network sites get traffic increases
- Many of my properties that are interactive, and need user generated content get a steady stream of readers and users
- Lastly, even if the e-book gets copied, the resulting readers will generate many visitors.
E-Book Links:
All the e-book links are managed by an htaccess file, which I discussed a few days ago. The advantage with that setup is that I can control where every link leads to and I can track return on advertising investment much better.
For all of my publications, advertising materials, e-books and even offline advertising will use this process to keep track of advertising response rates.
Publishing:
I have selected two venues for the initial release. The first is a test at the Warrior Forum, where I’ll release the e-book using a Warrior Special Offer (WSO) which will give me a chance to impress the die hard marketers. Then my plan is to move on to PPC Advertising (pay per click) and CPA Advertising (cost per action) and sell via ClickBank, a self-publishing site. Of course, the advantage of Clickbank is that it has over 100k Affiliates and if just 100 of them pick up the e-book and promote it, then I’ve hit a gold mine.
E-Book Content and Subject Matter:
Of course, this part still remains the same, and I will not discuss much about it. One aspect that I must stress is that the e-book is very much an introduction to various topics and for more in-depth information and how-to aspects, the reader needs to visit my support site and get a free membership.
Copy Lock and Theft:
I decided against all that. It will just be a PDF file that anyone can easily copy. However, as I said above, the beauty of the publication is that the membership is needed to fully benefit from the concepts and techniques that I discuss. The overall problem with putting more and more copy protection is that people will contact you months, and even years later to unlock a pdf file. And even with such protection there are programs that will “break the lock”. In the end, the idea is to insert alternative monetizing methods to take advantage of those who will freely distribute the e-book.
I hope that by exploring these subjects, you too have a great idea about what can be done with your own e-book. I am in the very early stages of planning the marketing for my e-book. Many more details will emerge as I test my ideas and let you know the most effective processes to follow.
