Greatly Increase Web Site Traffic
Category: TRAFFIC BUILDING
Rich Sage ‘cracks’ the 60,000 Alexa rank, briefly.
After watching the Super Bowl Sunday, I took a moment to glance at my Alexa rankings to see the stats to the right. I couldn’t believe that the rank for the day was displayed. Alexa does not show daily stats for sites ranked higher than 100,000. All this is getting done in less than 6 months of promotional work! The traffic growth is now accelerating.
My combination of good writing, article submission and publishing to several news sites is making the difference! I had projected that the rank will achieve less than 100,000 by April of this year. Three months following that, I’d reach less than 10,000 –So, still a very long way to go. Better get to some work to make it happen.
Powerful Traffic Building Suggestions
Regardless of what you want to do online, you need one element to make it happen: You need traffic.
Thus, everything that you do needs to be taken into account for the purpose of building a readership, an active user base, or both. Once you have your company’s “i”s dotted and “t”s crossed, the very next task is traffic building. This is something that you should never delay. Make it part of your daily routine.
To help you out in generating more traffic for your site, here are a few surefire ways to increase your traffic starting right now!
#1: Use WordPress with the All-in-One-SEO Plug-in Running.
Using the All-in-One-SEO pack you can make the page, and even post titles appear just as you need it for the search engines. For example, a quick glance at the top of the page shows that the current post title is first, followed by a separator, and lastly, the title of the site –Rich Sage.
The plug-in also allows custom META tags, but I didn’t utilize that because it displays those at the top of the page. I didn’t know if that was an error or intentional. You may have a theme that can accommodate displays of such data at the top. If you don’t want to use that feature, just leave the space blank.
The most important part of the plug-in are the titles and key words that you utilize to help search engines. These adjustments are made to the first page. Then the plug-in works it’s magic on many other pages from posts to archive pages. The All-in-one-SEO is a must have.
#2: Setup Google Webmaster Tools
You should make sure that Google is reading your sitemap on a daily basis. The Google xML Sitemap now covers Yahoo and MSN. Make sure that you’ve setup that to read your sitemap file daily.
This will insure that the search engines are getting the latest, greatest information from your site. BUT, why stop there? Make sure to register with Yahoo Webmaster Tools.
Regardless of doing all of the below steps, you’ll soon see that the easiest way to build traffic is to make the search engines happy with great content! When the Rich Sage started espousing his wisdom, search engines were responsible for less than 20% of the traffic. Now it’s over 60% and growing.
#3: Building Links of Various Kinds
- Ask for Reviews: Ask for reviews and have readers and fellow bloggers who want to review your posts on their site. This is a very slow process, but again, it keeps on building links and traffic. Furthermore, if you have reviewers use the process I have outlined on this page, to use particular keywords to link back in the review, it’s extremely powerful.
- Register with Directories: There are plenty of services that will do this. I say pick a good one with a history of usage. This step creates a lot of inbound links. I’ll actually explore this step as a study that I’ve started shows results –that is coming up in a few months.
- Articles with a Signature/Resource Box: This step is 100% in your control, as you post articles, they form links back to your site and you can vary those key words used to link back.
- Working with Web2.0 Sites: I have actually just started this process, and I’ll report on the results in an upcoming update.
#4: Article Posting, Article Posting Plan & the Best Article Posting Sites
- Automated Article Submission: I have used a service called JetSubmission to get my bulk articles distributed. I call these “bulk” because they are PLR articles that I edit and put my link in the resource box and submit. I don’t put a whole lot of time into it because I advocate quality in all of my work and this type of submission “smacks in the face” of manual work that represents quality. Anyway, I do recommend using such a service initially to get the ball rolling.
- Manual Article Submissions: I’ve made a list of the best places to send articles. What I do is to make edits to each one as I post to a new article site. I believe that each article going into such a site has to be unique to get the most benefit.
- Daily Content Distribution: Lastly, as part of my strategy, I post my best content to Digg, Sphinn and Reddit –All Web2.0 sites that feature newsworthy or tech content.
At this time I am exploring how to maximize using newsletters and RSS Feeds, along with forums, communities and e-books to generate traffic. I’ll have a more in depth update on that later. The process will never stop. The results are extremely promissing!
