Review of the Smoovie TV Website by the Rich Sage

Today I wanted to discuss a few simple aspects of web site setup to take advantage of generic traffic delivered by search engines.  Smoovie TV is a state-of-the-art entertainment system for the hospitality industry.  They provide a perfect solution for hospitality TVs.  When you travel anywhere and rest a few nights in a hotel room, this is the system that best delivers your movies and entertainment in a very cost-effective manner. Indeed, Smoovie has the perfect solution for the hospitality industry.

However, when it comes to their online presentation, Smoovie TV makes a few mistakes on their website by showing an exclusive movie using flash on the first page.  It’s a page without meta tags or any other information to help guide search engines.  The rest of the website that has all the content people are looking for, however, again listed without meta tags.

Smoovie is the state-of-the-art solution for the hospitality industries need for a hospitality tv, but if no one can find you online, then your setup has a slight problem. The rest of my review discusses solutions for Smoovie TV.  My discussion is to evaluate what is wrong, and then offer a list of solutions to the Smoovie Entrepreneurs to help anyone, anywhere searching for a hospitality TV entertainment system find this state-of-the-art service from an online search.

My discussion about Smoovie Hospitality TV Website Continues…

I’ve already discussed some of the mistakes.  The first page displays (see image below) a flash presentation, and the following pages do list very important details, but don’t use meta tags, effective browser page naming or just a solid name of the website.  For example, the browser title says “Smoovie  — A hot piece of merchandize”.  Ouch!  What good is that?

My analysis of the key words used to search hospitality TV was rather interesting.  Who would have thought that various key words leading to “hospitality tv” are searched about 1,000 times a month?  This information I gathered from the Google Adwords Keyword Tool (See Tools Tab).

Smoovie TV flash introduction

Googles AdWords Key Word Tool returned these key word phrases, which where amoung 100 or so overall results. I’ve included a broad spectrum of phrases that amounts to over 250,000 searches.  It would be a waste to optize Smoovie for all these key words, but the “hospitality tv” phrases are a must!

hospitality, hospitality industry, hospitality inn, hospitality lcd tv, hospitality online, hospitality television, hospitality televisions, hospitality tv, hospitality tvs, lodging tv and philips hospitality tv.

It just so happen that the last key word phrase above as the first listing when “hospitality tv” in searched on Google.

Follow the below advice, Smoovie Hospitality TV Should Have the Top Spot:

  • Need to effectively name the Smoovie website pages.
  • Need to give the entire website a name relevant to the industry.
  • Need to even name the pdf files on the site in a manner that aides searches.
  • Lastly, this is simply a must:  META tags for keywords and description needs to be used effectively using the phrases that I suggested above.

Again, the above are basic suggestiond that everyone needs to follow to get at least some results for key word phrases that are not so common.  If you are targeting a much sought-after phrase or two, you’ve got more work to do like linking and a host of other maketing activities.

I’ve just suggested the basic, because that has not been addressed and generic traffic that can lead to huge exposure is being missed out.
