Building Client Success
Just over a month ago I proposed as part of my monetizing efforts to help build online success for a select number of Clients. SInce I’ve learned and applied everything to build Rich Sage dot com, why not use those idea and techniques to build success for Clients? I now have a few Clients that I need to do daily work for. Each Client is a bit like a plane taking off –all the work is upfront before the take off. Eventually, with the help of staff, my goal is to reach about 300 to 400 Clients –at least fill the list that I have. This will give me an excellent opportunity to test and improve my suite of tools that are used by the Underground Members.
Shortly after writing my Client strategy, I ran into what I think is an excellent Client in the “humor” category (Writing & Public Speaking) –one which I feel is a very difficult item to fill.
Since I am teaching my Underground Members how to build online success for their Clients, it’s a natural fit to keep growing my part of the business where I help others online. This leads to a lot of growth and understanding about what it takes to succeed online.
The Humor Client is running “How to Be Funny” dot net, as he’s an accomplished comedian. He has an excellent sales page, and below is my recipe to build even more success for his online efforts.

More About Building Client Success…
Current Status: Client Name — How to be Funny.NET
How to be Funny.NET is selling an e-book online, instantly delivered, about how to be funny. Usually, a new Client means that there is no sales page. However, in this case “How to Be Funny” has an excellent sales page that is converting from organic traffic a few sales per day.
The sales process has started — I think that is 50% of the ball game. To develop a product and then start to market it.
Now comes the part where money and time need to be carefully managed to build an outstanding ROAI (return on ad investment). This is my plan to maximize such returns while minimising the costs of an advertising and marketing campaign.
ROAI PLAN:
- Maximise benefit from Affiliates (ClickBank) Sales.
- Initiate an in-house campaign for the Client’s product.
Some of the finer details of this plan are discussed below.
What is Complete:
- Excellent Sales Page
- ClickBank Setup and Signup area for Affiliates
- Client is fully supporting the success of the product
Some Setup Work Left:
Text Ads: A few dozen text ads suitable for AdSense mainly. My Client has a small budget for that process. However, thru my own marketing I can add to that when I calculate the ROI and infuse my own funds. AdSense will not be a great sales channel as the emphasis of my Client seems to be to build Affiliates to maket the products. Certainly, at this point all of that is setup. The only improvement I see are a few “creatives” to help Affiliates –text ads and banners Affiliate can use.
Banner/Display Ads: This is a vital step for helping all Affiliates and just moving along the ad campaign –without proper advertising materials all the Affiliates will be a step behind getting the job done.
PPC and CPA Campaign: This is not going to be a major factor as I first thought. However, when the Client is not doing these items, that means the door is open for Affiliates to flll the void and do their own sales.
Affiliate Program: Done via ClickBank. I am fortunate that “How to be Funny” has already setup everything at ClickBank. That also means the product delivery process is done. I immediately setup the ClickBank sales process on my end and inserted the sales code into my HTACCESS file to manage the URL. The result is that when you click http://www.richsage.com/howtobefunny.php >> you end up at the sales page with ClickBank tracking enabled. HowtobeFunny is paying 60% in commissions from each sale, which is very high. With this amount of commissions paid out, I should be able to setup a marketing program that is “self funding” and expanding –no need for much infusion of funds from the Client.
My only suggestion to the Client was to add some form of back-end sales, which can be done by adding a sales area to another up-sell type of product sold through the e-book.
This also means that I’ve started the process of link building, web 2.0 promotions and article promoting is next. That of course requires a few articles.
Soon as the text ads and banners are ready, I’ll employ the following advertising and marketing process to get “How to be Funny” e-book sales growing:
- Enter text and banner ads into my ad network.
- Keep expanding the organic traffic building process with articles, a press release and several ‘campaigns’ to build a few sellers via ClickBank.
- Embark on my own PPC/CPA sales process.
- Insert the “How to be Funny” e-book into my own sales area such as the Marketplace which is currently being developed.
The Client has a goal of doubling his sales in one quarter. I feel confident that I can help him accomplish that goal while incurring minimal costs. All this is rather timely as I am experiencing record traffic, and although this is a product that is not in my niche, it is a product that will fit in nicely as part of my network building plans. Take for example the dating site (AddMatch) which will be a free –this is a perfect product to ‘monetize’ such a website. It’s a very credible and valuable product for visitors to the dating site.
One interesting resource that I use when a new Clients’ work is started is to create a Google Doc with details of the product, notes about the project and various other details. I don’t use a notebook, but Google Docs i think is better than a notebook -it can be reached anywhere, anytime and I can even assign others to view the details of my work.
Now the work begins…
