A Few Internet Marketing Lessons from Client #9

How a moments indecision can lead to the downfall of an entire career! Well, I didn’t want to dwell on the obvious –”Call Girls”, Client #9 and the entire world of high-class prostitution, which you can research on your own inertitive. I do suggest reading “Mayflower Madam” by Sydney Biddle Barrows, which is an excellent business book that will keep you awake and teach you a few lessons. Ironically, Client #9 was “busted” at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington D.C.
Ok, I’ll stop dwelling… But…
Here are some of the Business Initiatives that Have Started Since Then: Like it or not, these are out there…
- T-Shirts: Everything from “I really LOVE New York” to “Pimpin Ain’t Easy” to a lot of items with “Client#9″ You can get a few pictures from Zazzle, a production site for such items. I have no idea why someone will spend them time producing such a t-shirt. I certainly would not purchase such an item nor would I take anyone wearing anything like it seriously. I wouldn’t even say that this is a niche — It’s a one-week fad or joke that will go away very fast. Then what do you do with inventory? Not much.
- Sirius Radio Channel: Can you believe a “Client #9″ Radio channel? I could understand a website (which seems to be for sale as of this writing), but Sirius Satellite Radio has launched “Client 9 Radio”. I am wondering what the Executive who thought of that was smoking at the time. How long will that idea last?
What We Can Learn from All This & Internet Marketing:
I don’t think anyone should waste any time on weekly events. Sure this will effect a few people for the rest of their lives. However, everyone involved knew what they were getting into when they got started.
As for long-term, money making advice, I would say “stand clear of anything” that lasts a week or two. That’s about how long the search hype will last.
How then are we to Generate Long Lasting Content?
Just look to the problems that people have daily. Problems that are not going away anytime soon. Problems that are chronic, that are hard to solve. These are the true problems that people need help with and they are searching for solutions daily.
Take any health problem, from heart disease to diabetes. Aging to social problems. They all need solutions and people are actively searching online for ways to make life better. If you are going to do anything will a realistic way to make money online, you’ll have to help resolve the serious problems that people face daily.
Those people make great visitors and readers and often good customers for your solutions.
Carpe Diem, Rich Sage
