Great Post, Kathryn made a comment above, about not knowing how to or when to monetize her site.

I think this is an important problem that a lot of people (especially bloggers) run into, monetizing is kind of frowned upon by bloggers, which I think is a bit sad.

I think the best way for bloggers to monetize their traffic (and not annoy to many people with banners and ads all over the place) is to write honest useful reviews of various products you have actually used, and post them in a review section of your blog. Then in your blog posts, you can just mention them, like: Oh by the way, I recently tried out the new “Widget” and I have put together a full review of my experience over here for those who are interested. (then link to the post you made about it.

That way, those who are interested will click through and read it, and those who aren’t simply wont. Plus it gives you an added sense of trust since your not forcing it on anybody.
