Make Money Online:  A few tips by the Rich Sage on what you should NOT do!

Most of my work day involves working at the PC writing and looking over financial data.  I take time out to listen to music and do some outside reading.  The rest of the time is strictly spent helping building the lessons, membership and the Maxsimo company.

Who would have thought???

That there is a guy who is ON TV, is running on a thread mill and paints at the same time?  For what purpose?  Who knows!  It’s all for the sake of my discussion, here is the video:

Going back to traffic building basics… THAT WORK…
CONTENT:  A DAILY ROUTINE.

Adding content is nearly a daily routine, but this is not the only site I maintain.  However, I now see more and more progress for the Rich Sage, so, I need to focus on a few more search engine enabling features.  The Free Ad Forum keeps growing.  As do the number of comments.  Now I need to tend to some of the finer details such as broken links, missing pages, etc.

MECHANICS:  Broken Links

I downloaded and installed a very effective plugin called the Broken Link Checker for Wordpress.  This nifty little plugin did in minutes what would take days to accomplish –map all the broken links at Rich Sage dot Com.

It came up with 14 broken links.  Then updated itself to display around 30 by the end.  What surprised me were the two features that linked to each of the posts so that I could directly go to the offending page and correct the mess.  The plugin also allowed me to change the very link that was creating the problem.

I must say that the Broken Link Checker for Wordpress does its part and much, much more to keep us bloggers happy.

So, in my list of finer things to make sure you get the best search engine traffic, maintain pages with broken links is a “no no”.

LOOK ‘N FEEL:  an UPDATE.

Another area where I need a serious update is the look of the site.  But that task will await the addition of pictures and video.

I have a goal to use a very good camera, like a Canon 5D Mark II to take 1,000 of pictures and then post them on the site using to unique setups:

• The first is the use of vBulletin to create a forum type atmosphere to display the pictures using a very unique plugin.
• That plugin is called PHOTOPOST –which allows me to upload all the pictures, and then have commentary about them.

This effort will be labeled RICH SAGE TRAVELS and starts this summer with a scheduled trip or two.  Most of the posts will be tagged for my “Journey” category.  My objective is to get thousands of people to view the pictures, comment about them and for some, join the community.

The “travels” include adventure travel to trade shows to personal appearances.

Just about everything that I do out of the office to build the Rich Sage dot com brand.

Lastly there is MONETIZING:

I really didn’t have a clear path to monetizing when I started.  Now all aspects of monetizing have come together in the Rich Sage dot Com Underground lessons.  I am confident that I can keep growing the business plan and the visitors in many ways as the Rich Sage’s Maxsimo Affiliate program keeps growing and growing.

So, keeping with my theme of what not to do — Do not embark on a multi-year, business building plan online without a concrete plan of action to monetize the whole setup.  Make the monetizing part the FIRST part.

In my case, I always knew that I’d find a way to roll-out the Maxsimo Network, but I didn’t have a fool-proof way of doing it.  Well, I still don’t.  I just keep moving forward building it, and as it grows all things will fall into place.
