Rich Sage Monetizing Plan Update: 9 Key Elements to Success

I wrote about my monetizing plan way back in November 07, just when I got things started. My long-term plan was not only to utilize traffic to the Rich Sage to earn an income, but build a network of sites and applications to capitalize on traffic.

That plan goes into effect this week, as a new month starts. My goal is to have many thousands of users for the ad and membership network and several membership sites, and this is how I will accomplish that task.

1. Traffic:

It’s no secret that traffic is the life-blood of a successful blog site. Ad to that a mix of proper monetizing plan, and all the benefits of the traffic are realized. In my case I have several mixes of monetizing ideas running at the same time. Everything from the Adsense Ads to my own affiliate program are featured on this site.

All these benefit from traffic that I’ve built steadily for just 4 months are having great results. My next hurdle is to reach 1,000 ‘hits’ per day. These are all types of visitors to the site –from search engine bots to real humans. Since my traffic growth is accelerating, I can make some room to expand into some of the below activities.

Going forward traffic will be built with my affiliate program, e-books and a focus on search engine traffic.

2. Affiliates:

I am running one affiliate program, called Maxsimo. The objective of the program is to market Advertising Services and Membership Programs. It is my leading monetizing program, and one in which I intend to capitalize to build a worldwide business. My major goal here is to find new affiliates to work with.

The benefits to Affiliates are:

• Earning revenue from many products that have recurring billing
• Universal products
• Products with great margins

3. Good Software:

My software innovation is to develop one interface to manage everything from article publishing on the network of sites to ads, and memberships. All from one desktop software program that members can download free and use to manage network services.

4. Several E-books:

I have written one e-book and another is on it’s way. All the e-books point back to the RichSage for various examples and for further details, my free membership area. The e-books will create a way to monetize e-book sales and generate back-end traffic from readers.

5. Updated Membership Sites:

E-books work great but have limitations. I can only present static content. However, with the membership area, I can present information that is dynamic and use videos to make the point. The memberships will have 3 components. The free version, a version for only e-book readers. Lastly, my paid membership area is actually in the stock market niche. It’s not part of the Rich Sage.

6. Real-World Marketing:

This is where everything from my business cards, to advertising in newspapers and industry publications leads to a “following” in the blog community. Also the objective is to get as many links as I can back to the Rich Sage from industry leaders.

7. Paid Traffic:

Every month I am spending a little on ppc and display advertising. This will greatly increase in March as I use funds from my 2008 Rich Sage Monetizing Study. These funds will be used to quickly build the Affiliate base, make sales of products in the marketplace and develop new products.

Since that enables me to calculate a ROI for any money spent, I will do just that to maximize the ROI for the monetizing study!

8. Good Content:

At the end of the day, this is the most essential part of any blog or make money online effort. There has to be great content. Period. My ability to generate that content is a function of developing more traffic and then telling my community of readers how I built that traffic. It’s practically a self-fulfilling prophecy.

9. Help of Staff & Contractors:

Lastly, there is no way that I can do all of the above. Many of the tasks will be handed to competent Associates that I have made contact via forums and searches. I will work with these individuals to develop the latest products and services to be sold via the Rich Sage.

All this is rather timely as the more the Rich Sage earns, the more people are going to visit the site to find out what was done, how it was done, and the best methods for traffic building. In my case, I just tell the story as it happens.
