A Few Internet Marketing Lessons from Client #9

(CREDIT: Michael Ramirez, http://www.ibdeditorials.com/cartoons/)
How a moments indecision can lead to the downfall of an entire career! Well, I didn’t want to dwell on the obvious –”Call Girls”, Client #9 and the entire world of high-class prostitution, which you can research on your own inertitive. I do suggest reading “Mayflower Madam” by Sydney Biddle Barrows, which is an excellent business book that will keep you awake and teach you a few lessons. Ironically, Client #9 was “busted” at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington D.C.
Ok, I’ll stop dwelling… But…

Creativity IS Alive and Well: Rich Sage Takes a Peek at the 2007 You Tube Awards

The Rich Sage took a break this am to just stroll around a bit and ran into the You Tube awards. Sure enough a few of my favorite videos are there, as are some new ones that I’ll point to in a bit.
At the same time, I created a new “Directors” channel that I called “RichSagedotCOM” with the objective of resurrecting the idea of posting “How to Make Money Online” user videos. I started this process a while ago, but it didn’t really take off in my daily routine. I attributed much of that to not having the right mindset at the time. I tend to get very technical and rather boring. I hope I can pursue the new videos with better wisdom. Another problem was a rather noisy computer. I have resolved that part and now I am ready to build my channel.

Rich Sage Analysis of a Perfect Affiliate Program

When I analyzed affiliate programs of various kinds, I found flaws in all of them. The traditional affiliate program is often used by buyers just to get a discount on their own purchases by getting a commission. On the other end of the spectrum, often multi-level marketing programs sold useless products –products so over prized, only a combination of an income opportunity with the product led to a sale. People were not necessarily buying a product for the benefit, but were motivated to make the purchase because they could start earning commissions.
I wanted to solve all these problems and create my own Affiliate program that took many of the benefits of the Internet, networking and advances in technology –software and hardware, and devise a global network that Affiliates could count on to make a very good, diversified and stable income.
The idea of the Maxsimo Ad & Membership Network was born.

Article Publishing Strategy and a Success Update

This is an update to my article writing post from January.
Articles generate a lot of highly-targeted traffic. I didn’t just write articles –I worked on a strategy to post them based on the quality of article sites. I went even one step further — I also based my publishing on the quality of the article. This is a summary about what I’ve done and my future plans.
By posting articles my objective was to accomplish these tasks:
- Build a reader base
- Build a subscriber base for RSS and Members
- Get a lot of one-way links pointing to the Sage from article sites
- Have those links pointing to the Sage based on particular key words

50 Gigs of FREE Storage! What Would You Do? Rich Sage Review of ADrive: www.adrive.com

Today I started my day by creating an ADrive Account with 50 GB of free storage. I was in the practice of allowing access to a folder on one of my pc’s for sharing files. However, with 50 GB of free space, why not do that online?
There are many other very necessary reasons for having such space, apart from the obvious back up:
- Disaster recovery
- Automated back up and incremental back up, which are coming soon
- Easy file sharing
Another rather cleaver and more and more necessary feature you can use such a large amount of space is to back up laptops and hand-held data just in case it’s lost.
I’ve also heard that security checks are increasingly more and more intrusive. If you want to protect your data, the ideal way is to upload the files, take an empty device or crucial files and propagate your files and data once you get to your destination.
I think that ADrive is a very handy service that offers a lot for free. However, what will be essential to a successful experience for the customer is when they have an automated incremental back up system, which is promised as ‘coming soon’.

Compete Ranking and Site Analytics Review by the Rich Sage

For several months I have looked into the growth of traffic at the Rich Sage. All this time I had to use Alexa’s ranking system, which I was not completely confident about given that it is old and uses their proprietary tool bar ‘clicks’ for many of it’s conclusions.
Today I looked at that traffic using Complete, and here is what the site, with a free registration can do:
- Traffic analysis site that can compare several web sites with your own.
- Displays search analytics that show key words/phrases that are searched by visitors.
- Complete does all this using several data sources and their own tool bar.
- What I found interesting that a lot of advertising companies use the site for their own analysis of a sites advertising reach.
- Compete awards 5 free credits that can be used to get extended services such as deeper results from comparison sites.

21 Business Success Ideas for Excelling in a Recession by the Rich Sage
Anytime there is a slowdown, which was brewing for nearly a year, it’s the best time to gear up for the best of times. This is how you can take control of your future, by planning well. Times may be tough, but take control of the situation and you’ll sprint ahead when sales start to rebound. We’ve been in a recession for a while, at least in the US. However, this is also the time to plan, streamline operations, cut extra ‘fat’ and build a lean ‘n mean operation that is ready to sprint out of the gate when the economy bounces back. This is the time to develop new ideas and improve on old ones.
With those thoughts in mind, these are my 21 suggestions to get your make money online operations in good order and facing the right direction so that you’ll be ready to run when the times are right!
First of all, a quote that’s in my e-book:
“The problem with most failing businesses is not that their owners don’t know enough about finance, marketing, management, and operations — they don’t.
but those things are easy enough to learn — but that they spend their time and energy defending what they think they know.
My experience has shown me that the people who are exceptionally good in business aren’t so because of what they know but because of their insatiable need to know more.“

Music Marketing and Download Future: NiN Free Music Download

Above is the introduction to the music download page by the Nine Inch Nails. I thought it was interesting because it creates a “sales funnel” that takes 100% advantage of the Internet. The band’s leader, Trent Reznor, apparently does not like the music industry. Talk about “slapping the hand that feeds you” –something the Rich Sage ill advices! Reznor’s solution is to give away a major portion of their newest album, under a creative commons license. What I found interesting were the “value added” items that were being put up for sale –I think those items will more than compensate for the loss of any sales via the record labels or giving away the music online.
