Monetizing Study 2008

Category: ONLINE SUCCESS | No responses yet »

Rich Sage begins an Annual Event, with the first Monetizing Study 2008

RichSage Monetizing Study

The objective of the study is to take an amount of about $100,000.00 and do the following:

  • Use pay-per-click advertising to make product sales, calculate ROI
  • Run traffic to one-time-offer (OTO) pages, calculate ROI
  • Run traffic to CPA (cost per action) type offers, calculate ROI
  • Use my e-books and other products from ClickBank combined with several traffic generation sources, calculate ROI
  • Use my membership network and the Maxsimo global affiliate program to generate commissions, calculate ROI
  • Use organic traffic generation to build sales, calculate ROI

When an ROI for a particular niche is good, just rinse and repeat with a larger amount of capital. This follows the old African mantra -NEVER test the waters with both toes. I’ll first test each study item with a small amount of cash, using the research that I’ve done. Then I’ll re-test and asses the progress and work on compounding the successes, while I minimize losses.

My objective for the clients is to achieve a 750% to 1,000% in the next 12 months. I’ve actually started the process with my e-book which goes on sale via ClickBank, so, all this is rather timely.

For My Readers:

My study will give great insight into how niches are performing. I will try to document all aspects from key word research into the ppc campaigns to generating organic traffic to several web properties that can generate great sales and commissions.

I will be working with 10 clients on this study, to show them what can be done as well. This will allow me to build their accounts for one year and with their permission, move the accounts to a brokerage where I can continue my consulting role helping them get outstanding returns for many years.

My last goal in all this is *credibility* — It’s rather easy to broadcast myself as the RichSage, doing this and that. However, hard numbers, as in ROI are irrerefutable. My goal is to have people who can vouch for my success and provide testimonials.

This segment will have a monthly review. Make sure to bookmark this page or subscribe to my RSS feed to get your update.

11 Ways To Dominate Your Niche

Category: MAKING MONEY | No responses yet »

Rich Sage follows 11 Traffic Building Steps, which you can use to dominate your niche.

I made a joke a while ago that on the first day I made my site live, I had 3 visitors — Me, myself and I. Those days are history. Now I am getting a “following” bit-by-bit as I immerse myself into the role of THE Rich Sage. This is me –as I’ve lived most of my life –even without knowing it in the early years.

When I started to look into traffic, the only comparison that I had was the Alexa ranking, which put me at 1.5 million rank late last fall. Well, with over a billion pages of “stuff” and 150 million + blogs, web 2.0 pages –well, just a lot of published and abandoned “dreams”, I felt good starting out at the 1% rank. I had beaten 99% already. Ok, that’s a good spin on things… Now it seems that my rank is rising by the week!

RichSage February 2008 Traffic Rank

But, the question after that is “How do I improve 10, 100 or even 1,000 times FURTHER?” That is what my drive, my momentum and my success are all about. I will share with you what I have done… So, these are my humble stats: Just over 140,000 various hits from 4,000+ sites. Everyone has to start somewhere. This is my start. Now, momentum is *vital*.

Yahoo Webmaster Tool Site Registration: Telling Yahoo About Your Web Site

For several years Google has used several webmaster tools to help everyone tell Google about their websites. Now Yahoo has finally started that process with a service to register a website with the Yahoo Site Explorer. >> Keep in mind to do all these things you’ll need a Yahoo ID that gives you access to pretty much their entire network.

#1 - Insert the URL of the site, in my case the Rich Sage was entered, and then press “Authenticate”.

11 Ways to Make a Quick Buck

11 Ways to Make a Quick Buck and NOT Get Arrested!

Times are tough. You want to make a very quick dollar. I’ve got some great ideas. It does involve a bit of travel -if that is the project you pick. And for my overseas readers –a US Visa in needed, unless you find a good target locally. There might be an insurmountable obstacle or two, but that is always a testament to your resourcefulness. Only those who overcome such obstacles are rewarded, anywhere. I’ll spare you the ideology and get right to business. There is a lot of irony, satire, ill advice and down right lack of wisdom in this post. Please don’t misinterpret that.

Ways to Make a Quick Buck and Not get Arrested Doing it:

#1 Almost Stalk Britney and Get a Picture: $10,000 to $100,000

Britney Spires

The above image is from CNN.COM, showing poor Britney Spears on her way to the hospital for evaluation. It seems that she’s spawned her own cottage industry with everyone hawking everything Spears to the tabloids to the new media companies like x17.  It seems that anything with her current image, doing anything newsworthy (well, with her, what is NOT newsworthy?), anywhere. Talk about life in a glass house.  And I cannot remember her doing anything that I wanted to spend time on.  However, many other people do.

Many other people who seems to be rushed getting the basics of life done without “blowing a gasket” seem to have ample time to read about Spears escapades. Go figure.

But, all that is not my business. What is?  To tell you that a picture of her runs for $10,000 on up to start.  You’ll of course have trouble finding a bush near her house to hide because odds are that ten other guys are doing the same. But, that should not stop you from declaring open season for a buck or two, or $10,000 grand.  As hard as it is to believe, it seems the media companies even pay royalties and that $10k figure can go up to $100,000!

Cost$:  Basic photography equipment and some serious survival food so that you can camp out 24/7 to get just that right shot.

Potential Reward$: $10,000 to $100,000, while the subject is hot.  If the subject self-destricts or implodes, I am sure the media will generate another poor sap to take her place.

#2 Vero Beach Gold, Florida, USA >>

Vero Beach Florida from Google Maps

This topic is a bit “hush hush” — It seems that there are a few claims from salvage companies and perhaps the State of Florida, but that should not stop anyone from a nice stroll along the beach or a small boat in the waters –with a metal detector. The objective is to find a few pieces of silver coins or gold treasure that washes up from time to time (especially after a storm) from one of 11 or so Spanish galleons that sunk off the coast.

I have no idea how anyone can lay claim to things that wash up on the beach. Bonus? You’ll get a nice, deep tan just like the Rich Sage, with some fresh air to boot… Good luck treasure hunting!

Cost$: 30 days off to make a real expedition. Airfare and Hotel. I have no idea what a good metal detector costs. As a kid I remember being unable to buy one with my paper route revenue, and those days they were $499.00. Make sure that yours is anti-corrosive.

Potential Earning$: $Thousands, as long as it’s not claimed by someone. You’ll need to be creative to make your claim. Just don’t mention I said anything.

Next, Diamond Hunting!

Social Networking Traffic

Building Social Networking Traffic for the Rich Sage

My quest to reach 1,000 visits per day by all types of traffic continues. Today I’ll explore my #1 social networking traffic site, StumbleUpon. I’ll also cover the Technorati, Facebook, Digg and Sphinn sites that greatly contribute to overall visitor count. All the above mentioned sites are part of the Web2.0 barrage of sites. But that does not mean we should forget the old, tested and proven sites like Google and Yahoo that also generate an enormous amount of traffic.

1. Stumble Upon >>

Stumble Upon

Stumble Upon’s (SU) member review process can lead to a lot of traffic when the members find your site interesting. Within SU, you then need a viral growth of exposure to members. I’ve inserted the main page, and now expanding to insert several post pages to expose to SU members.

Since SU members are always Stumbling on to new sites, it helps to insert several promising pages of content. It will great help to have a recognizable brand to generate repeat traffic.

The ONLY Choice: Rich Sage Note to Get Your Motivation Flowing…

It’s not often that you’ll get me to quote “Sylvester Stallone”, nor am I writing this update to celebrate the latest film release. I’ll also mention that I am not endorsing his lifestyle. All of his personal actions are his, and only his. The reason that I am writing this is to point you to the video below about his story, narrated by Tony Robbins.

It’s rather interesting how he got started, and how he followed his dreams –the drive is amazing. His sheer determination to succeed led him to one of the most amazing film careers. Enjoy the video…

One of the characteristics you’ll see in success online, and for that matter in all walks of life, are people who against all odds came their dreams come true. The hunger that they express is extraordinary and often that is what you’ll need to make your successes come true. It does not happen overnight, but when you work very hard, and at the least expected moment, things fall into place. That is life.

I don’t spend that much time listening to motivational speakers. I do from time to time enjoy a good story about how tough the start up phases were for some of those who have become house-hold names. I’ll think about writing about a few of them as my Rich Sage discussions grow…

WordPress Post Title Modification

Category: WORDPRESS | One response so far »

Creating dynamic page titles by modifying the post title name in WordPress

As many of you know, the default installationWordPress Browser Name Edit of WordPress will leave a static page title in IE or FireFox –for that matter, any browser.  For example, for this post, the title could be Rich Sage Make Money Wisdom > WordPress Post Title Modification.

However, the idea page title would be: WordPress Post Title Modifications - Rich Sage Make Money Wisdom.

It’s wonderful that in the WP admin this title can be changed under the “options” tab, but what’s not so handy is that the first part of the tittle will never change in default mode.  The latter part will change to the post name.

There is a simple correction to this issue, by putting the post name first in the php file that controls this information.

Here is how you can modify the Post Title display in WordPress:

Enter the hosting and wp-content folder >>  themes >> your theme folder.

Then look for the “header.php” file and this line of code:

<title><?php bloginfo(’name’); ?> <?php if ( is_single() ) { ?> &raquo; Blog Archive <?php } ?> <?php wp_title(); ?></title>

Replace the above code with the below:  Keep in mind that you can insert your own text into the code by putting it between ‘ and ‘ . You can also insert text after the “<” and “>” statements.

<title><?php wp_title(’ ‘); ?><?php if(wp_title(’ ‘, false)) { echo ‘ ‘; } ?> - <?php bloginfo(’name’); ?></title>

Doing this is essential because it now gives the search engines an accurate method to capture the dynamic name of each page that you write.  This will great aide your goals of building traffic.

Success with your own WordPress blog!

11 Make Money at Home Tips for the Recession

Category: MAKING MONEY | No responses yet »

There is no question about it, the economy is contracting. What is happening now is similar to what happened in Japan in the 90’s –after massive consumption and ‘easy money’ (and a good dose of corruption) there is no more room for the economy to keep growing in an healthy manner. People are afraid, and the economy starts to contact. The US will go through a period of that, in the coming months. Unless spending is brought under control, the mess will get worse.  This is an essay on how to make some preparations for that as you work on your plan to make money at home.

Here are some sobering news items on what is happening: AN ECONOMY of MERCY…

Today I’ll discuss major and minor steps you can take to save a lot of money and headache, as you build your dream business online.

New Poster Child

Category: INVESTING | One response so far »

New Poster Child for Corporate Blunders Rogue Trader Nick Leeson

Back in the 90’s there was good’ol Nick Leeson, lead trader at Barings Bank that took a trading account minus $2 Billion and managed to hide it for a few good months.  Then everything caught up with him.

It’s rather interesting that Nick Leeson is now a speaker and seems to be advising people on “Stress Management” –something that he handed out very well while at work at Barings Bank!

It’s announced today that he’s handed his batton to a new leader at the insurance and financial giant Societe Generale, the French behemoth.  Now there is a new role model in the game and this time the stakes are just a tad bit higher. The institution needs to “write off” $7.2 Billion dollars to offset the losses of its rogue trader who has admitted to the scandal.

At this time there is no announcementSociete Generale regarding the name of the nice guy or gal.  I’ll make no assumptions here.  What I found incredible was the the massive fraud was uncovered over the weekend. And in today’s announcement, the French Financial giant said “We are in the process of dismissing the Paris-based trader” –So, after 5 days of knowing it and after the trader admitted the problems, they are in the process of firing the guy.  Nice pace.

This goes to a post I made a while back at my investment site, NEXT SuperStock >> –where is all this money coming from and where does all this money go?  If the trader “lost” the money, it has to go somewhere.  Basically, the trader made a bet, and lost.  That means there is a winner somewhere else.  So, while there was a loss at Societe Generale, there was a considerable gain to an underwriter of securities.

The next item is even more incredible:  The bank will “write off” said amount they lost.  Write off?  What a convenient term to say that “We * (insert you favorite derogatory term) up, bigtime!”

If you ask me, it seems that the capacity to make blunders are facilitated by the ease in which people are allowed to manage money.  It’s all “easy come, easy go” and the poor working people pay for all these blunders, made by Presidents down to coprorate money managers –the price is paid off the working backs, of common, decent working people, as they slave away from day to day earning a living.

It seems to me that the “hardships” need to be endured by these corporate CEO’s and traders on a regular basis to understand how tough it is to make the money in the first place.  Perhaps, only then will they take the responsiblity and not gamble with it.
