Rich Sage Business Model Changes

Rich Sage Business Model Changes:  Simplify to advance.

Over two years of updates I’ve managed to create a community and traffic has steadily grown.  However, I still don’t see the rapid traffic growth that I need to catch up with the, for example, TOP 10 make money online bloggers.

I need to make some radical changes.

While the site was down I made just such plans and they are now getting executed.  The easiest way for me to explain is with a diagram…

Rich Sage Business Plan

Rich Sage Business Plan

Rich Sage going forward…

The main difference between what I had in mind earlier and what has changed now is that the Investors working with me will own a percentage of the part that is kept in stocks.  The corporate stock account will be divided among the Investors.  The model is nothing new –it’s laid out like that of Warren Buffet.  When he got started, his stake in the “Enterprise” that became Birkshire Hathaway was only $100.00!  Look what has happened since then.

My goal is to manage the fund, and work part time helping grow each of the properties that’s part of the corporate portfolio.  Some of the sites are not for sale, but a majority will be for the benefit of building the corporate investment account.

I think the plan is simple and straight forward.  Much of it is already underway… What I need to do is to make sure the legal and accounting framework are taken care of.

As part of the corporate investment account building, I will feature an area at biig.com, where anyone can buy and sell domains, web sites and businesses with a large web presence.  Of course, this site will help alert me to possible buy candidates, and help with sales of web businesses.

As I have said in the diagram, about 20% of the net sales proceeds will be used to purchase more domains and web properties to build in-house and sell again.

The rest of the profits will go directly to the corporate stock fund and get invested in the portfolio that I will describe more and more at Rich Sage dot com.

I have always looked for ways to make Rich Sage dot com a long-term, sustainable endeavor, and this modifications fits right into that theme.  Now, let me get right to work making it happen.

Carpe Diem,
Rich Sage

Good plan you have laid out Rich, hopefully your endeavors into the Stock Market goes well for you. I would be interested to know what websites you will be selling. Mainly just for curiosity’s sake.

Till then,

Jean

I like the business model but just after studying it for a few minutes, I have one question. If the growth of the businesses were slow, wouldn’t you in essence be basically putting almost all of your money into stocks?

HI,
The growth of the business model was slow because it got too complicated. At this time, my focus is to re-start using http://www.savepedia.com. Focus on building that and then add other products & services.

OK, so we’re well into 2010 now, and you’ve been implementing your new plan for approximately 5 months now. How has it been going and do you have anything pertinent to reflect upon and share with us?
