Rich Sage Marketplace powered by Clickbank

When I first made live my upgraded site, I debuted my Marketplace powered by Zencart.  However, the problem with that was ZenCart was a complete ecommerce solution that was a “job by itself” trying to figure it out, and using it to manage a marketplace with a shopping cart.

I made a mistake.  Often projects that require huge amounts of time never get done.  Don’t get me wrong –ZenCart is a great product that is free to use with a huge base of users.   However, what I needed was a quick solution that generated income.

I migrated over the weekend to a simple php script that I’ve run for several years promoting a Clickbank Marketplace.  The script that I am running is just left alone and delivers sales consistantly without any intervention from me.  So, why not use it on my Marketplace?  The script by the way is called CBQuick and now I am using it to power my Clickbank sales area which I call the Rich Sage Clickbank Marketplace.

More of my ideas about the Marketplace…

Many php scripts will allow you to customize the template pages to make it look like part of your website.  In my case, I’ve yet to do that obviously.  I’ve made some links back to Rich Sage, but that’s about it.

One of the drawbacks from this script is that I cannot display the HTML within another page.  For example, I wanted to add a page in the Wordpress that displayed a modified version of the above image.  I cannot do it with the setup.  There is a possibility to create an iframe and display the html but that does not really do much good in a Wordpress setup.

The script that I am using does have a feature that you might want to consider in your own setup  — It cloaks the Clickbank URL protecting your “hoplink” while you maintain affiliate sales.  I’ve really not cared all that much about it, but everyone says that this is a must have so that sales are not “hijacked” by visitors.

My Objectives with the Rich Sage Marketplace:

  • Ads suck.  Diplaying ads for third parties don’t work for me. I want to display ads for select products that are part of my marketplace.
  • I want to be able to display ads all over my network for select Clickbank products and see how well they work to monetize sites.
  • This will be the start of that process  –I’ll see how it works here before I expand a similar setup all over my site network.

Now the Marketplace is up and running.  I am happy with it.  I think with a bit of time and trial and error with the HTML template, I’ll have it looking very nice.

Now back to work! Carpe Diem,
Rich Sage

I have an account with Click Bank. Signed up because of the Peel Away Ad that is in the upper right corner of The Information Age. However, I was unaware of The Click Bank Marketplace and will explore deeper into its options. Thank you for the tip and if I find a way to code what you were looking to accomplish, I’ll send you the snippet.
