Rich Sage Update September 2008: Sustainable Growth!
I’ve advocated for many years an online business model that takes into account sustainable growth. I am sure that you’re aware of the current financial crises –I think at this moment even a cave dweller knows that there is a crises.
What most people don’t realize is that this crises stems from many people who were doing “good deeds” by helping more and more people buy their own home in the USA. In the past 15 years home ownership has soared to record levels, first under the Clinton years and then with even lower interest rates under the Bush years. Lending institutions such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made loans that they never should have made. Furthermore, banks were also “pushed” to make loans to people that just didn’t have a realistic way of paying it back.

(Yes, another day will dawn, with a beautiful and more sustainable landscape…)
In the past often these loans were held at the local level. However, in the “new business model” where loans –good and bad ones –were re-packaged and sold down a chain of very greedy investment banks, some banks have ended up with –not much.
More about sustainable growth…
In the end it was a nice party, BUT, the “party house” was a giant “house of cards” just waiting for the right wind to blow so that it can implode. Such an implosion no body can stop.
What happened was UNSUSTAINABLE and the whole house of cards is now deflated!
So, where does this leave all of us? Well, it’s not the end of the world. Based on real work, I’ve setup the Rich Sage Underground and that business model is growing very nicely.
Doing “real work” is very important –otherwise, one is just playing “a hand of cards” here and there –some will “hit” and others will not. But, odds are that money will be lost.
This is what most people are doing. They are putting on debt, looking for the next opportunity online, and then going from business opportunity to opportunity, putting things on a credit card, but not really making any progress.
What I advocate is just getting started, minimizing expenses, and then doing “real work” to build a business online. And that is the basis for the Rich Sage Underground.
What has worked:
- Creating a community — I’ve added a part here and there and now there is stable traffic.
- As part of that “community” I am teaching, helping and growing my members that in turn just creates more and more traffic. Very sustainable. This effort will take me to the 2,500 to 4,000 rank among worldwide web sites that I seek.
What I’ll Keep Adding:
- My business model going forth is the same –just highly focused: To help my members build their success with a highly effective suite of tools.
- Keep working on finding the right members to work with.
- Keep expanding to work with the right people (staff) to make this all possible.
Some of the Elements that will make this Business Model Work:
- Universal Admin Software (UAS) to help manage the properties.
- A Fast-growing network of sites such as the AffiliateMINT, which is actually growing faster than Rich Sage dot com.
- A Global Contest: I am planning a very large contest in which I award hundreds of prizes over the next 22 months (starting in Jan. 09) to people worldwide to use network services.
- Keep making better and better software to help Members manage as many Clients as possible.
Going back to my starting premise –Anything that is done to build success has to be sustainable. There has to be “real work” — Tips and tricks are fine to help build some short-term growth, but will not yield any long-term success. Long-term success can be built by using real plans, real work, real benefits and real mini-successes –which I plan to keep doing here and via the Rich Sage Underground. It’s all very sustainable. It better be –I’ll have a lot of Members counting on it.
