SAVE PEDIA JULY 2009 UPDATE

Category: AFFILIATE PROGRAMS, MAKE MONEY ONLINE

SAVEPEDIA Update, July 2009 by Rich Sage

After a lot of work and finally a theme that’s good enough to get things going, I’ve started to update Savepedia(TM).  It’s THE place to SAVE on Everything, Everywhere.  Should make that a service mark.  Like this — SAVE on EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE(SM).  We’ll I’ll think about it.  Or it can be “Save on Anything, Anywhere(SM)” –another decision that will take some time.

In today’s update I’ll discuss the Merchant, Affiliate and Consumer advantages of Savepedia.  I will also get into the logic used to setup the directory and listings within Savepedia.  So, you want to make money online?  Here you go… Perhaps, what I feel is the hottest Affiliate program you’ll see for a long time.

First of all, I am using wiki software, just like Wikipedia which uses a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP setup) software called WikiMedia to display pages and manage information.  The good thing about the software, which is maintained by a large group of developers is that it’s updated regularly and their developer community puts out lots of added plugins that allow a vast array of functions.

There is another advantage that is priceless:  The software works. Wikimedia software works very elegantly.  If you are working to make money online, I strongly advice you to learn about the capabilities derived from wiki software.  I’ve been through the greatest ordeals in the early part of this decade with software that didn’t work.  Wiki software from Wikimedia has solved that.

I am sure you’re familiar with Wordpress and all the plugins that allow everything from just posting pictures to… You name it they have it.  In the case of Wikimedia, there are fewer plugins, but there are plenty to get the job done.

More about Savepedia as my discussion continues…
SAVE PEDIA(TM)

The first problem encountered with Savepedia is the management of information.  As I said, that was resolved by using wiki software to manage the users –Merchants posting offers, readers viewing offers and navigating a vast amount of links, lastly, the Affiliate information.  However, in the case of Affiliates, I am relying on another piece of software to track sales and pay affiliate commissions.

Dealing with the listings can be a major ordeal –there can be millions of them!  My solution is to offer listings via the directory, which is the first page seen at Savepedia.com >>.

For the Merchants, who are inputting listings, the important feature is this setup:  The Listing Hierarchy.

Creating a Savepedia Listing

Creating a Savepedia Listing

The problem above is that a business in the dorm room of a student at the Ohio State University can claim that he or she is running an International business.  That claim is fine.  However, in the case of Savepedia, an Admin who is in charge of such an area will make a determination of that claim.  The Admin will also verify if the listing is paid for, and if not, will delete or move it.

As I have mentioned, there are International Listings AND International Sponsors — The listings are really unlimited.  Based on how many businesses there are for that category and the space Savepedia can create to display those companies.  As for the “sponsor” areas, those are HIGHLY LIMITED because there are only so many pages to list per category directly from the main directory page.  These spaces are limited to international companies that are household names and of course, since I “bat” for the underdogs, I will make sure that up-and-coming businesses also get their exposure at the International ranks.

At the end of the “rank” discussion is a local listing — more specifically, a listing that goes down to the root — A local professional or tradesman or even a small business.  This is down to the street rank.

At the very local level –we’re talking about down to a street or certain section of a large city –the listings and offers are very narrowly focused.  Thus, the fee imposed for the services are very low.

My objective is to keep adding more and more benefits for the small listing fees that enables the Merchants to benefit greatly.  For example, just about all the offers will be accessible via the MAXSiMO CARD(TM), our Global Discount Card(TM).

Obviously, to “localize” also means that I’ll need to display as many countries as I can.  So, I’ve listed them, along with suggested categories.  All the Admins will need to manage “Listing by Country” and by language!

I am not going to repeat all that I’ve said about the Affiliate benefit. However, let me summarize the Affiliate benefit this way: When there is a product that is highly demanded by the public and merchants, then its highly beneficial for the Affiliates.  You can read about the benefit to consumers, merchants and affiliates here…

So, all this is up and running.  Of course, most people who want to Affiliate or want to list as Merchants will take a “wait and see” approach.  I don’t.  I’ll start listing everyone that I can talk into this and everyone that is already working with me.

I’ll take the leadership. Success is quicker for those who take action!

Carpe Diem,
Rich Sage
