ScriptLance Review by the Rich Sage
Often I have work on my network of web sites that I just don’t have time to do. When I have such a project, I head over to ScriptLance dot com. Within minutes I can post a job and within hours I usually have a handful of well qualified programmers, writers or even designers — freelancers who are ready to get a job done in a week or two.
Sooner or later, building a successful online business or simply your make money online effort will cease to progress without hired help. There are just too many disciplines that you’ll need to master to make things work online.
Regardless of an e-book that you need to finish or site SEO that you need to implement, ScriptLance has someone who you can depend on to get the job done.
ScriptLance Review Continued…
Whether your requirements are an AJAX to LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) type of programmer, or a writer for articles or e-books, you’ll find a well qualified individual or small company to do your work at ScriptLance.
While posting a job for members of ScriptLance, you’ll be able to specify up to 5 qualifications you’ll need your help to have. In general, most programmers are not going to find it too difficult to do all the LAMP code. However, if you need a programmer, for a lesser known technology, here is the place to go.
I should add there are other sites like eLance.com and a host of others that help you accomplish the same. In my case, I found ScriptLance a good fit and always appreciated the type of programmers that I found from the site.
As a rule of thumb I tend to avoid programmers who are the most expensive or the least expensive for that matter. Usually, there are about a dozen bids for the work involved and one will fit the price, delivery and job requirements that you have.
Keep in mind that if the bid for your project seems too good to be true, you may be wasting your time. In my case, I often give very easy programming jobs to someone whom I’ve just met at the site. Only after a successful first job or even a second will I advance someone to projects that require weeks of work.
Perhaps, the key element that I am looking for in the first or second ‘test’ project (by test I mean getting to know the programmer) is to have excellent communication. At times, I prefer to pay someone who I can communicate with better, more money to get something done than to work with someone who wants to surprise me with things that I didn’t even ask for.
One tip that I suggest you follow is to search via Google Advanced Search other projects similar to your need at ScriptLance. Read the job descriptions that are at times put up by well-informed individuals in a company looking for extra help.
Then make your job description similar to it. By following normal industry language and descriptions that are easy to understand, you’ll find a programmer who will make a well informed quote for you.
Once you have several bids for your job, you can close the request or let more and more bids accumulate. Once you have a handful, my suggestion is to pick a few and check the ratings that are given by those who the programmer helped in the past.
You’ll see ratings given to your freelancer similar to the chart at the left. Within seconds you can see who might be a good match and those you’ll want to skip because they may be too busy or their prices might be too high.
The last check you want to make is to read some of the feedback comments that job posters have given the freelance candidates.
These comments are very helpful when making a decision about working with someone who you’ll most likely never meet face to face.
Lastly, in this process of finding someone who can get your programming, writing or design work done, ScriptLance offers a very simple way to manage payment. Most service providers will request you to put the full amount of the payment in “escrow” at ScripLance before they begin their work. When the work is completed to your requirements, it is up to you to release your payment to the freelancer. In a way, you and the freelancer are protected in this process. Only after the work is done to your satisfaction, will you need to make the payment or final payment. Keep in mind that a precise description of the freelance job are vital to getting a good job done and avoiding disagreements.
Follow my tips and you’ll have no problem getting your make money online projects done with outside help.
Carpe Diem,

There are a lot of people losing their money on scriptlance. They don’t have any policy regarding the money that exchanges hands which leads me to believe that they haven’t been audited and simply don’t follow regulations.
The site is located in Canada which makes it hard for most american’s to try and collect their money since it is outside US jurisdiction. Their policy even states that you better not file a complaint with your credit card or paypal or they will suspend your account. That statement in itself seems a little like fraud to me. Let’s face it, If your running a reputable site, then it wouldn’t matter if someone filed a dispute with their credit card as you have nothing but honesty behind you. That’s simply not the case with scriptlance. I read numerous complaints about scriptlance at several consumer sites.
