Show Google Some Love

Category: ADVERTISING, MONETIZING STRATEGIES

Showing Google Some Love

I’ve had many readers advice me to drop Google’s AdSense in favor of one of the many contextual advertising programs out there.  From their perspective, that advice may have some logic.  I am sure there are thousands of webmasters out there that put up Google AdSense on their websites and earned a $1.00 or $2.00 and ‘dumped it’.

I on the other hand, I have greatly increased my work with AdSense.  In fact, just weeks ago I started my writing and publishing about my experiments with AdSense.  You can read all about it in my AdSense Directory: What it takes to earn $123.00 per Day with AdSense.  It’s part of my effort to build up a sizeable AdSense income that I can donate through my charity.

My reasons for sticking with Google and AdSense…

The simple reason that I didn’t switch to some other text ad network is that I am loyal to Google.  Well, I’ll not jump to say it’s a love  -I reserve that for humans.  But to Google AdSense, I am very loyal for the following reasons…

  • Way back when they setup a simple advertising program that anyone could use to monetize their traffic. I started using it for several sites. It worked. They paid.
  • The setup for AdSense is very easy.
  • Done correctly AdSense can generate a good income.
  • I am a Google fan. I depend on Google to deliver traffic. It’s seems to me rather hypocritical to expect traffic from Google while looking to monetize that traffic with other sources.
  • Google will be around a while, expending the earning possibilities with advertisers.

I also keep in the back of my mind that if I am setting up hundreds of sites using WordPress and they all have “X” company, what will I do IF “X” company changes their codes, goes bankrupt or simply stops paying?

Well, much of that worry is nonexistent with Google I believe.

I also think that as I continue my business model, where much of my Google income is distributed to charitable projects around the world, they will simple “show some love” in return, and send more traffic my way.  Of course, I am not going to count on some bonus like that.  I will keep working hard to deliver the best content that I can to keep the Google Team happy.

Carpe Diem,
