What do you do after making the perfect hand held Operating System (OS)?

If I were Apple, I’d try to put the OS on as many devices as possible.  I wanted to dedicate my last post of July to run through a wish list of what I’d like to have in the next generation iPod Touch  –Touch3.0.  It’s too late to deliver all this with the Touch2.0, that I am sure Apple will announce in the coming weeks.  That’s too soon to deliver, but iTouch3.0 can be around the corner with the below features.

After decades of wait, we have the perfect OS for a hand held device.  Not only that, the iPod Touch can now run 3rd party applications downloaded from the iTunes store.

Now the only obstacle is size.  Why not deliver users with large hands an all-in-one device that can function as a hand held computer that can manage just about all the Internet functions we need to run?

Apple Next Gen iPod Touch Continued…

Apple is firing on all cylinders. That’s the only reason I’ve given it’s stock a “buy” this summer.  Everthing that Steve Jobs puts out the door is a leader in it’s class.  I am sure the next major announcement, coming in August 2008, is that the iPhone2G & 3G have sold 10Million+ since launch. Masses of students are getting iMacs and Mac Book Pro’s.  Some of the computers are sold with FREE iPods, resulting in tight iPod supplies.

Everyone is wondering -What next?  I have one good idea.

The perfect marketing engine has one lacking product –A device that is between a cell phone and small laptop size device for everyday use for just about everything, apart from a phone.

My vote is for a 9″ iPod Touch that has all the function of the current “Touch” running the iPod Touch2.0 software that’s just been released.

SIZE MATTERS: What a gorgeous screen!  But the current iPod Touch is too small for me.  Why not take the perfect hand held OS and put it on something with a 7″ or even a 9″ diagonal screen?  I don’t think the weight is going to matter that much.  And as far as heat, I believe an Atom Chip from Intel will manage a “cooler device”.  Having the extra room permits a longer lasting battery, as well.

PERFECT READER: This would become the perfect reader.  No more squinting at screens that are phone size.  With a 9″ screen one can read text at a comfortable distance!  And for those who don’t want to leave their games behind, imagine what could be done with more screen space for gamers?

DOCKING STATION: Lastly, why not have the ability to add just about any peripheral using a docking station?  Attach just about anything that you could want using USB ports.  Must have a key board and mouse? Sure.  How about speakers? No problem.  It can be the perfect parking space for the iPod Touch3.0!

Mr. Jobs, this is what I need.  Can you deliver soon?
