Ultimate Affiliate Program -Learning from the Past, Moving Forward — Part One.

Several times I have tried to get a global affiliate program launched for the products and services that are part of the network of sites that I maintain.  That success has eluded me until now.  At this point, I have managed to eliminate everything that could go wrong –software woes, hardware problems, financing and even my own pitfalls.

Now I am ready once again.  Below is what I have setup.  It’s pretty simple and explained on just a page.

My Ultimate Affiliate Program discussion continues…

Some of the problems I’ve Overcome:

  • Software: I have tried 100% online software to manage an affiliate program.  Such programs over promised and under delivered often.  These programs are often hard to customize and offer so many variations upon setup that they seems to have just too much bloated code.  When things got busy, the software shut down.
  • I tried the same type of software using custom programing –the same issues.  Often the database running the software shut down, and that meant the entire web site was unreachable.
  • Hardware: This was more or less a hosting issue.  Just needed good dedicated servers running linux and updated to the latest patches.  I’ve found a great host that keeps up with what I need.
  • Financing: All this is part of a hedge fund, which I am building and part of the fund’s capital is allocated to building at least one successful online business that can be sold or taken to the next level.  I believe Savepedia(TM) is such a business model.
  • Lastly, there is the setup itself –it cannot be not too cold or hot!  If such a setup does not grow fast enough it simply dies a slow death.  If it’s too hot, it may mean that 1,000’s of affiliates will join but only a handful will actually do the work.  This is the part I have to be careful about –to watch carefully and reward those who do the work and eliminate those who do nothing.  I think my setup accommodates such a scenario.

So, what next?

Just a very careful roll out of the $6,000 software, business idea and affiliate network.  The affiliate network is not a multi-level marketing plan –the Merchants who own the affiliate program that are marketed can decide how to pay their Affiliates.  Most of them will pay directly –per sale.  However, the flexibility exists for Merchants to pay commissions over even 7 levels of compensation.  Again, the payments are up to the Merchant.

Part TWO will continue soon with the Affiliate, Merchant and Corporate benefits.

Carpe Diem,
Rich Sage

HI,

I don’t like the idea that Affiliates (Representatives) are forced to purchase products. In this case, there are optional upgrades that help build success and lots of free software. I don’t want to “nickle and dime” Affiliates.

This week I’ll update with a follow up after the Affiliate Management Software is running fully.

RS.

I personally would like to see you do something like what Google Adsense did - a contextual ad code that can be inserted to any page.

Benefits:
-Don’t have to worry about matching traffic to program
-Don’t have to worry about program expiration

A campaign is where you create an ad and have keywords to target what you are promoting. i.e. if you were promoting energy juice xyz. Then you would use keywords such as how to increase your stamina, energy juice xyz, etc. Something that relates to what you are promoting.

I’m going to go home and buy the tv, I wouldn’t buy it on my phone. That doesn’t mean people won’t do it though.

Wow, some of the best out-of-the-box thinking I’ve heard of in a while

@RichSage…I couldn’t agree more. There is no way that Affiliates should ever have to be forced into purchasing products. If anything, this would deter then from wanting to do business in the first place! (imho)…

Look up data recovery services on the internet and arrange to have them get the data for you. Even the best data recovery may not be able to recover all of it,
