Why I Created My Own Affiliate Program

Category: MARKETING

The Rich Sage Affiliate ProgramRich Sage Affiliate Program

I have spent considerable time, money and testing on how an affiliate program should be run.  I did that after testing and working on several programs  which really didn’t go anywhere due to a lack of promotional work on the part of the affiliates and/or software problems.

Now I am confident that the software is running and is dependable.  Furthermore, it allows for me to run my business model involving several sites with small business tools.  My goal now is to focus on the promotional aides the affiliates will need to build sales traffic.

That involves creating all kinds of ads:

  • Text Ads
  • Banners
  • And a lot of Articles

Then all the information needs to be entered into the affiliate management system to handle the load (each time a banner is seen on another site, that equals a “hit” and creates extra “work” for the server), which can go a long way as the system is running on a dedicated server.

So, I have 20 days, apart from the holidays, that I need to use to get the majority of the affiliate program “ready to roll”.

How NOT to Run an Affiliate Program:

Today I ran across some words about a program I was monitoring because they didn’t have much other than a website.  They weren’t taking in money in anyway either.  So, no harm done, right?Agloco is Bust!

Well, not exactly.  I have read many posts by John Chow >> a fellow blogger who had heavily promoted Agloco.  However, this week he reported that the Agloco folks had not even renewed their SLL certificate.  That pretty much shows that the program is going under even before it got started.   The shocking part was that they signed up over 20,000 people!

My solution to this crisis is to make sure 100% of the offers, sites, services and affiliate program are working using the right software and setup correctly.

The last thing that I want to do is waste my time promoting something that has no value.  That is the first reason that I started my own setup — at least I know what’s behind it and that it works.

I received an email today from Agloco, basically saying that the program is not getting enough revenue and the founders cannot support it anymore from their own savings.

They also asked if there’s anyone interested to take over the program.

I looks like Agloco will be history soon…
